Perched on the north coast of Scotland and just a short drive from John O’Groats, the most northerly inhabited point on the UK mainland, the historic town of Wick is a hidden gem with much to offer.
The town itself is host to a range of attractions, including its historic harbour and seafront, the striking ruins of Old Wick Castle and Castle Sinclair Girnigoe, and the multi-award winning Old Pulteney Distillery. Visitors to Wick can also indulge in award-winning cuisine ranging from traditional Scottish fare to French, Italian and Maltese, or simply enjoy a relaxing drink and some local colour in one of the town’s many fine bars and pubs.
Wick also acts as a gateway to the North Highlands & Islands. Sitting on the famous North Coast 500, the town offers an ideal starting point to explore the beautiful North coast of Scotland, and with ferries to Orkney operating daily from Scrabster Harbour and Gills Bay, a day trip to the beautiful Northern Isles is just a half hour away.
