Job Summary: As a B1 Engineer, you will ensure the airworthiness and safety of our aircraft, operating within the framework of CAA requirements and company policies. You will be responsible for performing maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various aircraft systems and components. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute directly to the reliability and efficiency of our fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Aircraft Maintenance: Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on aircraft in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
Inspections: Perform thorough pre-flight, transit, and post-flight inspections to identify any potential issues or discrepancies and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot aircraft systems, components, and avionics to identify and rectify faults, malfunctions, or defects efficiently.
Repair and Replacement: Carry out repairs, replacements, and adjustments on aircraft components, including engines, landing gear, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and other critical systems, using approved methods and tools.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and inspections conducted, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company documentation standards.
Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with relevant aviation regulations, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and company procedures.
Safety: Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures to minimise risks to personnel, equipment, and aircraft during maintenance operations.
Communication: Liaise with other maintenance personnel, engineers, and flight crew to coordinate maintenance activities effectively and provide updates on the status of aircraft maintenance tasks.
Training and Development: Stay current with advances in aircraft technology, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements through ongoing training and professional development activities.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to aircraft emergencies or unscheduled maintenance events, providing technical expertise and support to resolve issues and minimize disruptions to flight operations.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid B1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license issued by an aviation authority (e.g., EASA Part-66, FAA A&P).
- Proven experience working as a B1 Engineer on aircraft, preferably including experience on multiple aircraft types.
- Strong technical knowledge of aircraft systems, components, and avionics, with the ability to diagnose and rectify complex technical issues.
- Familiarity with aircraft maintenance manuals, technical publications, and documentation systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach to achieving maintenance objectives.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to strict safety protocols and procedures in all aspects of maintenance operations.
