IT Manager

Position of work: Eastern Airways Head Office, Humberside Airport

Reporting to: Accountable Manager

Salary: Negotiable depending upon experience

 

Responsible for the IT business strategy & process delivering IT services to a regional airline

 

General responsibilities:

  • Directing the sourcing and implementation of new software and hardware.
  • Overseeing departmental budgeting and forecasting within the organisation.
  • Direct line management of staff.
  • Analysing the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology requirements ensuring all system usage is moral and legal.
  • Ensure disaster recovery steps are in place to meet the demands of a highly regulated industry.
  • Responsible for testing & roll out of system & software updates.
  • Ensure company policies align with industry & legal regulations such as GDPR/SOX & PCI compliance.
  • Oversee service delivery / helpdesk to 200+ users.

 

Key accountability

  • Coordinating IT activities to ensure the availability of network services and data.
  • Management of IT provision for Head Office & remote sites across UK & Europe.
  • Ensure technology roadmap is aligned to business process.
  • Management of external providers, negotiating contracts & ensuring SLA's are met.
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems.
  • Managing mobile and fixed line phone contracts to ensure no overspends and value for money.

 

Qualifications & skills:

  • Bachelor Degree in computer programming or other related fields (desirable) or relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience managing employees within an IT environment (essential).
  • Sound working knowledge of all relevant coding, languages and security protocols.

 

Personal attributes:

  • Ability to resolve & reconcile issues with limited supervision by identifying sources of error, making retrospective corrections.
  • Highly competent in analysis & interpretation of information.
  • Effective organisational & time management skills to manage busy workload.
  • Ability to identify work priorities.
  • Ability to communicate to tech-savvy & non-technical staff.
  • Flexible approach.
