Propulsion Engineer

We now have the following vacancy based at Humberside Airport: Fleet Propulsion Engineer 

Reports to: Continued Airworthiness Manager

Direct Reports: Assisted by CAMO Engineer as required

Location: Humberside (Predominantly office based, but some travelling will be required)

Shifts: Weekdays Monday-Friday (some out of hours working required in line with operational requirements).

Salary: £40,000 + benefits

Role purpose: Provide support to the Eastern Airways fleet of turboprop and turbine aircraft by total management of the fleet powerplant program. Working with the airline to ascertain future requirements, planned maintenance events and continuous reliability of all engines, APU’s and propellors.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Liaising with GE, Pratt & Whitney, UTC, Honeywell and other OEM’s on resolution of technical issues.
  • Being SME for the organisation to drive improvement in maintenance, monitoring and operation.
  • Ongoing review and analysis of Engine Health Trends, recognising potential issues and preventing negative trends
  • Engine workscope and repair specification review and evaluation.
  • Establishing and maintaining a network of MRO partners, and providing technical representation during engine shop visits, to ensure on time delivery of engine and propellor repair/overhauls.
  • Manage maintenance budgets. Actively seek, recommend and implement operating cost improvements.
  • Assisting with the sale provisions for surplus engines and rotable parts.
  • Technical support, assistance with trouble shooting, provision of approved maintenance data and management of engine on-wing AOG events.
  • Review and implementation of mandated Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins and other pertinent technical documentation making recommendations accordinlgly.
  • Actively embrace and promote safety.
  • Ensure as an organisation we operate within, and uphold, NAA regulations and client requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

MANDATORY

  • Relevant Technical Qualification or equivalent suitable experience.
  • 5 years Aviation Experience 
  • ICAO Level 6 English
  • UK recognised driving licence
  • Completion of further education or degree

DESIRED

  • Part-66 Licence with comparable types.
  • Formal engine manufacture/MRO course completion or certified OJT.
  • Previous engine management experience.
  • 2 years+ relevant experience within civilian aviation (ideally CAMO orientated)

Skills & Knowledge:

MANDATORY

  • Demonstrable technical knowledge and understanding of turboprop/turbine operation and maintenance requirements.
  • Technical understanding of engine operation and associated parameters including trend analysis and the associated symptoms.
  • Ability to interpret and understand technical data.
  • Recognition and application of the regulations.
  • Ability to effectively manage workload.
  • Satisfy Quality and Compliance requirements.
