Travelling to the UK

Test before you fly

All passengers travelling to the UK who are not fully vaccinated will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test, taken up to 72 hours prior to departure.

Arrivals into the UK are not permitted from red list countries unless a British or Irish national is returning home, or you have residency rights in the UK.  Those travelling from red list countries must self-isolate in a government-approved quarantine hotel.  Further information can be found here.

Test to release scheme

If you arrive in England from somewhere outside the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man, you may have to quarantine for up to 10 days on arrival. 

Under the Test to Release scheme you can choose to pay for a private COVID-19 test.  If the result is negative, you can end your quarantine.  You cannot take a test until you have been in England for a full 5 days.  The scheme is voluntary and applies to those quarantining in England only.  If you do not want to opt into the Test to Release scheme, you will need to quarantine for 10 days.  Further information can be found here

After receiving your testing kit, you can follow all instructions that come within the kit box and visit RANDOX to see all FAQs and instructions regarding registering the kit. Results are turned around up to 24 hours from when the sample reaches Randox.  A standard result email, in line with DCMS guidelines on travel will be sent once analysis is complete. All testing is conducted independently by Randox Health, see their website for more information. If you decide to purchase any COVID-19 pcr testing services, Randox Health's terms and conditions will apply.

To protect your health and others, everyone must complete an online Passenger Locator Form before arrival in the United Kingdom.  

Failure to comply with the above measures is a criminal offence and you could be fined.
