Jan 2007 Following the Government’s decision to double Air Passenger Duty (APD) to £10 on domestic and European short haul flights, Eastern Airways will absorb the cost for any passenger who had booked flights prior to the announcement. For travel after 1 February, Air Passenger Duty will be charged at £10 per ticket. However, unlike many airlines, Eastern Airways has decided to cover the cost for all passengers who booked before the Government announced the increase in air tax. Air Passenger Duty is an excise levied by the UK Government and collected by the airlines on behalf of HM Revenue and Customs. For further information on this visit http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/ |
