Inverness CastleInverness is situated on the Moray Firth at the mouth of the River Ness and is the regional and administrative centre for the Highlands of Scotland.

Awarded city status by the Queen in December 2000, it has long been recognised as an important junction for travellers and an economic centre for traders. Inverness is an award winning city, ranked 5th out of 189 British towns and cities by the Quality of life Research Group. It is also regularly recognised in the Britain in Bloom and Beautiful Scotland in Blooms awards.

Good transportation links and breathtaking scenery provide an estimated 1mn visitors with an excellent base for exploring the Highlands and Islands.
