The current double daily schedule will rise to three each weekday from 26 March to offer business travellers an even greater choice of flights and the UK regional operator will also provide a new Sunday service between the two cities.
Flights during the week will depart from Southampton at 0720, 1425 and 1810 arriving in Brussels at 0940, 1645, and 2030 local time. Services from Brussels take off at 10.20, 1720, and 2100, landing in Southampton at 1040, 1740 and 2120 local time.
Sunday services will depart Southampton at 1645 and land in Brussels at 1905 local time. Flights from Brussels leave at 2025 and arrive in Southampton at 2045 local time.
Keith Watson, Eastern Airways’ head of sales & marketing, said: “Since the start of our first international service last November, our customers have been asking for greater flexibility with an even better business led schedule to meet their needs. The new Sunday service will suit travellers taking weekend breaks as well as providing an additional option for those who start business early on Monday mornings.”
Demand for cruises from Belgian travellers soared 40% in 2005 and Eastern Airways’ new service from Brussels to Southampton provides convenient connections for luxury cruises from the south coast.
Jan Halliday, Southampton Airport’s director of communications, said: “We’re delighted to hear that Eastern Airways will further develop the Southampton – Brussels route by providing more choice of services for customers. Business travellers will undoubtedly benefit from the extra flights to and from the European Union capital. The service will also appeal to leisure travellers taking onward luxury cruises from Southampton, as well those visiting the many tourist attractions on offer in the region.”
