March 2005 Eastern Airways increases emphasis on oil industry charters following commendation for its Safety Management System.
With the recent addition of a further Saab 2000 aircraft Eastern Airways has increased its commitment to the adhoc charter market with particular emphasis on support for the offshore industries.
One of the world’s leading oil companies praised the airline in a recent audit following the introduction of a Safety Management System that is in excess of UK CAA requirements. The company noted that Eastern Airways flight safety organisation and quality systems could be used as models for the industry.
Managing Director of Eastern Airways, Richard Lake commented “The oil industry is one of the most safety conscious sectors of business and we are pleased to be recognised for our approach to safety management. We expect to grow additional adhoc charter business from this important group of customers.”
Eastern Airways' fleet comprises British Aerospace J32s/J41s and Saab 2000 jetprop aircraft. In addition to its adhoc passenger aircraft charter service for corporate and private clients in the UK and mainland Europe, Eastern Airways operates a. country wide network of scheduled passenger services.
