Aberdeen - Teesside Route Expands With Larger Aircraft and Sunday Service |
August 2004
Regional airline Eastern Airways has emphasized its commitment to being customer led
with the announcement that it is to introduce the 29-seat Jetstream 41
aircraft on its Aberdeen – Teesside route in addition to launching a
Sunday service as part of its Winter timetable.
The new Sunday rotation, which will be operated by a Jetstream 41, will
depart Teesside at 1655, arriving in Aberdeen at 1755 and then depart
Aberdeen at 1820, returning to Teesside at 1920. The Jetstream 41 will
also operate two of the four daily weekday departures from Teesside,
the 0950 and 1740 and two of the four daily weekday departures from
Aberdeen, the 0810 and 1610.
Eastern Airways Scotland Director Graeme Ross commented: “We have an
extremely loyal group of regular customers on this particular route and
several have asked in the past if a larger aircraft could be deployed
at certain times. I am delighted therefore to be in a position to
announce these changes which I am sure will be welcomed by our
passengers. Their opinions are very important to Eastern Airways and we
will always ensure we respond positively to their preferences, as we
have done here, if it is at all possible.”
Mark Clarkson, Business Development Manager for Teesside International
Airport added: “The decision by Eastern Airways to increase capacity on
the key Teesside to Aberdeen route is warmly welcomed. There are strong
trading links between the Tees Valley and Aberdeen and this move is
another considerable boost to the Airport and the region it serves”.
