Eastern Airways to launch Bristol - Isle of Man
January 2004
Eastern Airways is adding Bristol in the South West of England to its route network effective 29 March 2004 when it starts  scheduled services on the Bristol - Isle of Man route.  Eastern will operate the route once daily using Jetstream 41 aircraft, replacing incumbent carrier FlyBe.  Reservations can be made from Monday 26th January.

Working in co-operation with FlyBe. the transition will be seamless and Eastern will honour tickets of those passengers who have confirmed bookings with FlyBe. after 28 March, the day that it ceases its flights, ensuring there is no disruption for travellers. Eastern are hoping to increase frequency on the service from Summer 2004 targeting the business communities of the Island and the South West.

Bristol – Isle of Man becomes the 5th destination from the Isle of Man.  Eastern is currently operating the Isle of Man – Birmingham service on behalf of British Airways CitiExpress, and will take over the route in its own right on 1st February, increasing frequency from twice to three times daily.

At the end of October, Eastern added flights to the Isle of Man from both East Midlands and Newcastle, along with Birmingham to Inverness, the latter being a new route for the airline.

Eastern Airways Director, Graeme Ross commented: “The withdrawal of service on the Bristol - Isle of Man route represented another great opportunity for Eastern to expand its presence on the Isle of Man.  Bristol is a well positioned and popular airport serving the South West and the continuation of this service will enable passengers in the region to continue to enjoy direct links to the Island.”

Eastern Airways operate over 650 flights each week, and will carry approximately half a million passengers on a  network embracing Aberdeen, Belfast International, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Humberside, Inverness, Isle of Man, Leeds Bradford, London Stansted, Manchester, Newcastle, Norwich, Nottingham East Midlands, Southampton, Teesside and Wick .
