Extra flights take off between Aberdeen and Bristol |
|
August 2005
Air services from Bristol to Aberdeen will increase to three flights each weekday with Eastern Airways, following demand for extra services from business and leisure travellers.
The regional scheduled carrier started operating two flights each weekday between the cities from October last year and will add a third frequency from 5 September. A new Saturday service will also be introduced on 8 October.
The extra weekday flights will depart Bristol at 2.35pm and arrive in Aberdeen at 4.20pm. Services then take off from Aberdeen at 12.20pm and land in Bristol at 2.05pm. The new Saturday service takes off at 11.15am arriving in Aberdeen at 1pm with return services leaving Aberdeen at 9am and landing in Bristol at 10.45am.
Eastern Airways’ director, Graeme Ross, said: “Our services from Bristol to Aberdeen have gone from strength to strength since last year’s launch. These two cities are strategically important centres in the UK and the additional weekday service provides better efficiency, saving business travellers’ time. With demand growing, the Saturday service will also attract leisure travellers as we’ll be providing over 1,500 additional seats a month on the route.”
Tony Hallwood, aviation development director for Bristol International Airport, said: “We are extremely pleased that Eastern Airways is expanding capacity on the Bristol - Aberdeen route. These additional services provide an even better business schedule for customers and will also appeal to leisure travellers wishing to visit the Granite city and Grampian region.”
As part of the airline’s inflight service, passengers as always will be offered champagne, a seasonal liqueur, snacks and a refreshing hot towel. Return fares start from £99 including taxes.
This latest announcement follows the news that Eastern Airways’ summer Saturday flights from Bristol to the Isle of Man will become year round services from 8 October.
